This is a very special place to us. Believe it or not, it was our home in 2020 when we had to work from home and now, it’s our place to relax in the weekends. We have so many great memories attached to it and we’re convinced that you will too.
This cozy wooden cabin with a wooden shingle roof was built in the 1950s and it is a little over 70 years old. It was built in a traditional Romanian style, from wood and natural materials, and was completely renovated in 2021 to what you see today. Taking advantage of the opportunity to work from home, we restored the house as a refuge during the pandemic period, creating a space where we can feel good and disconnect from everyday stress.
The interior was designed as one open space, has one bedroom, one cozy living room with a fireplace, an open kitchen and a bathroom.
Where You Will Sleep
Upstairs, above the kitchen, there is an open sleeping area that can accommodate up to three guests, featuring a queen-size bed and a twin bed. This space remains open, and depending on your group size, it will be the main sleeping area we prepare for you. Downstairs, the spacious 4-meter couch can be used for sleeping or napping and can accommodate up to two guests, providing extra flexibility for your stay. Additionally, the cozy reading nook downstairs can serve as a sleeping space for one person.
Area
The small house is located in Bălnaca, a village in Bihor County, 90 km from Cluj and 60 km from Oradea. Although the area is a tourist destination, the cabin is situated in an intimate natural setting, away from noise and crowds. The property spans 1.7 hectares and offers a wonderful view of the Criș Valley.
It is also les then 10 minutes away driving from some of the most truistic sites from the area like Unguru Mare cave, close to the Vadul Crisului waterfall and many hiking trails.

Frequently Asked Questions
We have a DeLonghi Magnifica automatic espresso machine with a built-in burr grinder for our guests to enjoy a fresh coffee in the morning. No need to bring coffee.
The cabin is heated with a wood-burning stove. During the cold season, we will preheat the house before your arrival, and you will maintain the fire in the fireplace according to your desired temperature.
There are numerous trails and tourist activities available in our area. You can find more information on the PadureaCraiului.ro website: Vadul Crișului waterfall and cave, Ungurul Mare cave, a 2-hour easy rafting route on the Criș, or horseback riding with “La Caii Liberi” are just a few of our recommendations.
Within a 15-minute drive, there are several restaurants where you can dine:
Casa Veche – serving delicious pizza, burgers, and pasta. We recommend the truffle pizza! Address: Sat Bălnaca, no. 30.
