As hosts, we aim to make your stay as comfortable as it can possibly be. We have put a lot of consideration on the design, the features and the style of the house and accessorized it with handmade objects that you will see and feel on our property.
You will experience life in an old wooden house situated in an open field, within an inhabited area but away from the main roads. Surrounded by nature, you will encounter various climates, flora, and fauna. Please come prepared with suitable clothing, insect repellent, allergy medication, and any other essentials to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay amidst the natural surroundings.
Cooking: We want you to feel at home, and we welcome you as a friend in our house. For your convenience, the kitchen is stocked with basic ingredients like salt, coffee, and oil. It also features a small electric stove, coffee machine, mini fridge, glasses, plates, bowls, and pans. Depending on availability and
season, we will provide some fruits and vegetables for you. Outside we have a dedicated barbeque area.
Sleeping: Most sleeping areas are open spaces. When preparing the house for your arrival, we will prioritize the use of double beds and provide bed linens for the remaining guests who will sleep on single beds, allowing them to choose their preferred sleeping spots. If you have specific requests regarding sleeping
arrangements, please let us know.
Parking: You can park in a designated area on our property where your car will be safe.
Entertainment and Media: You’ll have access to wireless internet provided by a 4G router from Orange, with its specific performance and limitations. The Smart TV will give you access to apps like YouTube and Netflix, plus one of two online TV streaming services: Orange TV Go or Focusat. You can use the audio amplifier through a 3.5mm jack plug that can connect to your phone or laptop.
Extra Services: We offer additional services upon request. Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you need anything specific. In the house, we have bottled beverages and packed food available, which you can use and pay for based on an honor system.
At Balnaca Traditional Nook and Hidden Cottage, we provide a hot tub for 550 RON and 450 RON per stay respectively.
At Forest and Panoramic Nooks, we can arrange cooked meals starting from 80 RON per guest.
We would truly appreciate it if you can follow these house rules. This is to ensure that if there is any reason the house rules cannot be followed or you need additional information, you, our guest, will have the option of discussing with us to see if we need to have special agreements or cancelling the booking penalty free.
The number of guests is approved at the time of the reservation confirmation. Only guests who are on the
booking are allowed to stay overnight. Parties are not allowed.
The standard check-in hour starts at 15:00 PM. The check-out should be done before 11:00 AM.
This is a non-smoking home. If you must smoke, we ask that you do so outside and that you properly put out and dispose of the cigarettes.
The booking price covers only the standard cleaning and maintenance between reservations. Guests should not leave the property in a state that requires excessive or deep cleaning (ex: with soiled carpet, moldy dishes, excessive trash, pet hair, etc.).
Please use different garbage bags for recycling materials like glass, plastic and household waste. The selected and household garbage can be left in closed bags in the house or in the dumpster outside of the house.
Even though our house is in a private area, please do not disturb the surrounding community with loud noise (music, shouting, etc.).
For information on using the stove, firepit, hot tub, or bringing pets, please refer to the specific sections of
the house rules.
For the safety of our guests and property, security cameras are installed in visible areas. These cameras must not be tampered with under any circumstances. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact us.
If you need fresh air in the house, feel free to use the windows with insect nets. Please try not to leave doors or other windows open longer than necessary. We sometimes get visits from local wildlife or neighborhood pets. To keep everyone safe and happy, please avoid feeding them, don’t leave food
unattended outside, and make sure they don’t come inside.
Accidents can happen even to the best of us. If something breaks, tears, or spills, please inform us immediately to find a solution and address any extra costs.
Using the Firepit: Open fires are only allowed in the firepit. Always control the fire and use spark protection due to nearby vegetation and the wooden house.
A grill and barbecue utensils are provided. Please leave them clean for the next guests. Do not dispose of hot ashes; we will handle it after your check-out.
Using the Hot Tub: We’ll start the fire in the stove before your arrival. You can then maintain it until the water reaches the right temperature. A heated stove will restart easily, allowing reuse the next day. For hygiene, the hot tub water is chemically treated, filtered, and regularly replaced. Please shower before and after use, and keep the cover on when not in use. Do not smoke, drink, or eat in the hot tub.
The hot tub stove cover should only be off when adding wood. Otherwise, keep it on, either open or closed.
Visiting with Pets: We love animals and are a pet-friendly location. However, due to limited space, we can accommodate only one small or medium-sized pet in Forest Nook and Balnaca Traditional Nook.
Please inform us in advance if you’re bringing a pet. Do not leave your pet unattended in the house. We can provide pet towels upon request; guest towels
are not for pet use. If your pet sheds, please clean up excess hair before leaving.
Heating and the stove: While we strive for your comfort in our old wooden house, a constant controlled temperature cannot be guaranteed. Please dress appropriately for the season.
The stove is the only heating source in our house. During cold periods, we will start the stove and preheat the house before your arrival. If additional
heating is needed, please consult with us before using any electrical appliances. Our oversized stove takes time to heat the house, but it can keep it warm for days without relighting. Please limit adding wood to 2-3 hours at a time to avoid overheating.
If you are uncomfortable handling the fire, please let us know, and we can provide additional information and assistance.
The stove can be used only when the outside temperature is below 10°C. Starting it in warmer weather will fill the house with smoke.
In the house, we have a designated area for firewood for the stove. Depending on your needs, you may need to replenish it from the stacks outside. Please do not use the wood meant for decorative purposes. The stove door should always be shut, except when adding wood. Do not open the door when the fire is burning strongly to prevent sparks. Only use firewood and the provided solid lighting materials in the stove. Use lighting materials sparingly and only when starting the fire to ignite smaller pieces of wood.starti
